Check costco out. I am not sure of the brand. Veggie burgers taste NOTHING like real burgers, if you want to becaome a vegitarian, give up ever getting the taste of meat again. Truley.

I know that McDonalds and Burger King and Wendy’s all have unhealthy burgers but I was wondering if it all came from just the burger or if they used fattened bread or something? I’m a vegetarian so I order them without the meat and so does that mean that I’m eating a healthy sandwich?

I live on Long Island, and as far as the fast food restaurants go around here, nothing gets mustard. They dont even have it available in their store. I’ve eaten at places in other parts of the country, (Florida, Tennessee, Illinois) and mustard is a standard on their burgers. Ive also heard that upstate New York puts mustard on their burgers.. Is anyone else living in a part of the country where mustard is as taboo as it is in the NYC area?

I just recently came back from LA and tried the famous In and Out burgers, I honestly it was a huge dissapointment. The tasted like a burger from Sonic.

I live in Utah, and when I go on vacation to cali, I love In and Out Burger…. IT IS SOOOOOOOO GOOOD!!!! I would eat there for the rest of my life… maybe you just dont know a good burger when you taste it… jkjkjk…. lol… i guess it all depends on your taste.

I love the Hawaiian sauce they use at backyard burgers for their chicken and burgers. I used to work their nearly a decade ago but honestly don’t remember how to make it. Does anyone have the recipe for the sauce?

QUICK HAWAIIAN B-B-Q SAUCE

1 (8 oz.) Wishbone Lite Russian dressing
1 env. Lipton onion soup mix (dry)
1 sm. can chunk pineapple, drained

For B-B-Q: Mix Russian dressing and dry soup mix. Brush on chicken and B-B-Q.

HAWAIIAN STYLE BARBECUE SAUCE

3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 c. pineapple juice
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. brown sugar

Blend ingredients. Marinade pork chops, spare ribs or chicken for 2 hours in this sauce. Use as basting sauce

HAWAIIAN BAR-B-Q SAUCE

1 (32 oz.) catsup
1 can (2 c.) crushed pineapple
1 lg. can frozen orange juice
1 c. brown sugar
1 bottle A-1 sauce

In large saucepan, put catsup, pineapple and frozen orange juice; bring to a boil. Add brown sugar. Stir to dissolve. Simmer 15 minutes. Take from heat and add A-1 sauce. Cool and use by dipping chicken in sauce or spoon over meat. Great on ribs, pork chops and chicken.

HAWAIIAN BBQ SAUCE

1 med. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. oil
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 c. water
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1 (8 1/4 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. ginger

Saute onion in oil. Add tomato sauce, water, sugar, salt, and Tabasco sauce; mix well. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add crushed pineapple, brown sugar, vinegar, and ginger; mix well. Simmer 15 minutes. Great as a sparerib baste.

HAWAIIAN B.B.Q. SAUCE

2/3 c. soy sauce
1/3 c. pineapple juice
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. sake, bourbon, or vermouth
1/4 c. chopped round onion
2 tbsp. crushed or grated fresh ginger
1/2 clove chopped garlic
Red pepper

Combine all ingredients. Marinate meat in sauce for at least one hour. More for chicken. Ideal for steak, chicken or shrimp.

We used to have these things during school lunch that were called Western Burgers. They were really good (in my opinion anyway). It was ground beef with I don’t know what kind of spices wrapped in flaky crust / bread type thing. They looked like a ball. They were served w/ mustard packets. Anyone ever heard of them or know what I’m talking about and happen to know where I can get the recipe for them?
I wanted to add that I’ve tried searching for this recipe at Yahoo, Google and Allrecipes.com w/ no or not the same results as what I’m talking about. So if you ever had these at your school cafeteria, you’ll probably know what I’m talking about.

Every time I make burgers, they shrivel up. I’ve tried making them thinner, using more meat, and adjusting the cooking time. They still taste good, but end up really small. Is there something I can do/add that will help them retain more of their size?

If it matters, I either cook them on a George Foreman grill or in a skillet. I live in an apartment with strict rules about outside grills, so that’s not an option right now.

Buy leaner ground meat, like ground chuck or ground sirloin. They shrink because the fat cooks out.
